Blessing of Bikes and Bikers
April 28, 2012
Woodstock Harley-Davidson
2050 S. Eastwood
Woodstock, Illinois
Pastor: “The
Lord bless you and keep you. The Lord
make His face to shine upon you and
be gracious to you. The Lord turn His face toward you and give
you peace.”
Bikers: “God
is our refuge and strength, an ever-present help in trouble. Therefore we will
not fear. The Lord Almighty is with us. He is our fortress.”
Pastor: “I
lift up my eyes to the hills. Where does
my help come from? My help comes
from the Lord, the Maker of heaven
and earth. He will not let your foot
slip. He
who watches over you will not
slumber. The Lord will keep you from all
harm.
He will watch over your life. The Lord will watch over your coming and
going
both now and forevermore.”
Bikers: “Be
my rock of refuge, to which I can always go; give the command to save me,
for You are my rock and my
fortress. You have been my hope, O
Sovereign Lord,
my confidence since my youth. From birth I have relied on You; You brought
me
forth from my mother’s womb. I will ever praise You. My mouth will tell of Your
righteousness, of Your salvation all
day long. I will come and proclaim Your
mighty acts, O Sovereign Lord. I will proclaim Your righteousness, Yours
alone.”
Pastor: “May
the grace of the Lord Jesus Christ, and the love of God, and the fellowship
of the Holy Spirit be with you all.”
Father,
we have gathered today to declare our dependence upon You for safety
and security right now and forever.
We surrender the ride to You – our
bikes and ourselves – in complete trust of
Your favor to enjoy the pleasures
and overcome the challenges.
We thank You for the friendships and
fellowships of the open road; praising You
for drawing us together into a great
family of faith extolling the virtues of respect,
loyalty, unity, and authentic
freedom.
As we trust Your graces for safe
rides to new adventures, we ask You as Holy
Spirit to keep us alert, courteous,
patient with all others even in cages, and wise
enough to yield to Your guidance
that weathers the winds, storms, and unexpected
dangers.
Most of all, we thank and praise You
for the certainty of eternal life through Jesus;
fueling our confidence to live
robustly and expectantly because the end of this
journey will signal the start of the
best to come through Jesus in whose Name we
pray. Amen!
Amen! Amen!
