Presbyterian President?

Kopp Disclosure

    Ya gotta love the irony!

The pathologically arrogant guy who just may run against the pathological liar for President keeps saying, "I'm a Presbyterian!"

    Sooooooo funny!

Obviously, he's not familiar with today's PCUSA - the biggest of the Presbyterian franchises with about a million real members compared to their inflated rolls bolstered by endowments and Templeton - that makes Che look like former PUBC and CFP posers.

My sides are aching over this!

Louisville - HQ of the franchise that mirrors NYC and Geneva if ya catch my drift - and the increasing majority irretrievably apostate under current management view Donald as anathema to everything they advocate since abandoning Biblical Christology and common sense faith shortly after totally misinterpreting and reimagining Dowey's deepest intentions in C67.

Parenthetically, if you're not into the parochial jargon and cryptics because you're in a franchise that still takes Jesus by the book seriously or you're in a sister franchise akin to the PCUSA's increasing witness barely coincidental to Jesus by the book and still don't get the jargon, it's O.K.  Just have a laugh or two on PCUSAers who are going apoplectic about Donald going around and saying over and over and over again as if it will help him among conservative voters who still emit a modicum of faith, "I'm a Presbyterian!"

Really, it's driving the way leftist majority in the PCUSA bonkers; and a recent note from the highest judicial officer of the franchise to the unfaithful and other PCers and the media and general population that don't live to hear from the PCUSA on just about, uh, anything to distance the PCUSA from his claim to be one of 'em proves he's caught the attention of the PCUSA as much as the affection of pure bred national jingoists.

Now I'm rolling around on the floor in my study!

Frankly, I think he thinks being Presbyterian will help his campaign; or, at minimum, make him look, you know, kinda religious juxtaposed to the 7th Day Adventist who's starting to give him a real run for his, uh, money.

    Doesn't matter.

As someone who aches for the way things never were or maybe were but are no more in the PCUSA, it's comic relief.

@#$%

If the pathologically arrogant Presbyterian does get the nomination and runs against the pathological liar who, I guess, is the best that her gender has to offer right now for the first female to occupy the palace on Pennsylvania Avenue, I wonder if the PCUSA will officially distance itself by proclamation that no one outside of its ghetto will know about when they meet in Portland, Oregon in June 2016 to come up with more stuff, paraphrasing the first answer to the first question of The Shorter Catechism that nobody pays attention to anymore either, to "horrify and annoy" God.

When Church and State Go Bad

Scratching the Surface

of

Civil/Ecclesiastical Disobedience

(When Disobeying Church/State is Obedient to God)

Prooftexting is popular among immature believers and intentional deceivers; taking texts out of context to pretend proving something inconsistent with the corpus of the Bible.

It’s eisegesis (putting into the text what is not there) over exegesis (taking out of the text what is there); reimagining Biblical texts by substituting human thoughts for divine truth instead of extracting the exact truth of God as explicit in the text.

It happens when theology is reimagined: “So man created God in his image.  In the image of man, man created God.”

It happens when what we think and want and how we feel become more persuasive than God’s prescriptions for holy living in the Bible: “I know that’s what Jesus and the Bible say…but I think.”

Church and state are good at it; prompting their confidence in fooling/misleading/tricking-to-control the Biblically ignorant: “You can fool all of the people some of the time and some of the people all of the time.  Not bad odds!”

Church and state often twist and turn texts out of context to fool/mislead/trick-to-control us; especially when trying to get us to follow them over Him.

They are especially fond of Matthew 22:21 (“Give to Caesar the things that are Caesar’s and give to God the things that are God’s!”) and Romans 13:1 (“Be subject to the government!’) because, taken out of context, they assist in keeping people in subservience.

Jesus and Paul never meant those words to convince us to follow church and state like mindless drones.

Their contextual assumption is obedience to church and state is required by believers if

church and state are obedient to God as measured by Jesus according to the book.

Examples.

Read Exodus 1.

Read Daniel 6.

Read Matthew 5-7.

Read Acts 5:17ff.

C67 is right on: “Confessions and declarations are subordinate standards in the church, subject to the authority of Jesus Christ, the Word of God, as the Scriptures bear witness to Him.”

Simply, a believer’s highest goal, greatest ambition, and most fervent prayer are to honor God above all others.

It’s the safest way to live here and forever.

I think of obedience to God as akin to a traffic light signal.

When the traffic light is red, we stop.

When it’s green, we go.

When it’s yellow, we proceed cautiously.

That’s how traffic signals keep us safe.

When God’s will in Jesus by the book is clear, we go.

When God’s will in Jesus by the book contradicts our direction, we stop.

When God’s will in Jesus by the book is not completely clear yet, we proceed cautiously; digging deeper into intimacy with Father, Son, and Holy Spirit as best explained in Holy Scripture until we are sure it’s safe to go.

It’s like the old gospel song heralds as a promise and warning, “Trust and obey; for there’s no other way to be happy in Jesus, but to trust and obey!”

Jesus by the book is the safest way to live here and forever.

Stupid Americans

Kopp Disclosure
(John 3:19-21)

@#$%

"Stupid is as stupid does."

Forrest Gump

@#$%

One of America's greatest theologians, Kurt Vonnegut, recollected, "An Indianapolis cousin of mine, who was also a high school classmate, did very badly at the University of Michigan while I did badly at Cornell.  His father asked him what the trouble was, and he made what I consider an admirable reply: 'Don't you know, Father?  I'm dumb!'  It was the truth."

@#$%

After so many incompetent Presidents in a row, it boggles the mind to see the USA on the verge of electing a pathological liar or Presbyterian who is pathologically arrogant to continue the trend.

The pathologically arrogant Presbyterian in the running says it's because so many Americans are stupid.

I think he has a point.

Just look at who we've sent to DC lately; and look at who's probably gonna be next in line.

Yeah, I think he's on to something.

He may have gotten it from Kurt who may have gotten it from Jesus; for Jesus talked about "fools" who don't pay attention to Him on matters of faith and morality and all of the below.

Read the last several verses of Matthew 7.

Jesus used a Greek word transliterated as moros - Yep!  It is as it sounds! - to describe people who don't follow Him by the book.

@#$%

So how is America working without God in government, courtroom, classroom, commerce, too many churches, and...?

Go back up there to the Gump quote.

I wanna be wrong; but I think the arrogant Presbyterian has pinned the tail on the donkey.

@#$%

Speaking of stupidity, Presbyterians in that increasingly decreasing part of the kingdom called the PCUSA know all about that.

    O.K., maybe it's not stupidity.

It could be a calculated thanatos libido.

It could be the lampstand has already been removed.

It could be the PCUSA needs a collective exorcism.

    Not sure.

All I know about what I don't know why PCUSAers come off as sooooooo stupid today is that they keep distancing themselves from their heritage and wonder why people are leaving 'em quicker than poop flows through a goose.

From Genesis to Revelation in the book that doesn't have much authority in the PCUSA like most other "sister" mainline denominations - C'mon, it's O.K. to be honest about what you don't believe anymore.  You won't go to hell for it.  Oops.  I meant you won't go to jail for it! - the message from Father, Son, and Holy Spirit is clear, concise, consistent, and commanding: "Return to Me and I will restore you.  If not, not."

That doesn't mean getting everything down to a science and being right about everything.

If that were true or possible, it would negate the soteriological intention of the incarnation.

It just means people who really love Jesus by the book pray and try to be in/through/for Jesus by the book instead of always contending with Jesus by the book.

It just means exegesis over eisegesis.

It just means not acting so stupid when it comes to stuff that God's already revealed in Jesus by the book that's been upheld, confirmed, and advocated, more than less, by 2K years of Biblical, confessional, constitutional, historical, traditional, and common sense Christianity.

@#$%

Getting back to the pathologically arrogant Presbyterian running for President who keeps saying America is messed up because there are so many stupid Americans in DC, I've gotta confess I see a striking parallel in the PCUSA.

Actually, my mind continues to be boggled by the seizure of the PCUSA by people so far to the left of our heritage that it makes the left in DC look like BB guns compared to heavy artillery or Twiggy standing next to Dolly Parton.

The way left in the PCUSA has pret' near complete control over the franchise.

The remnant of churches and pastors who still embrace and advocate its heritage increasingly lose influence because of exits and attrition and fatigue and...

Annnnnnnd while I believe our Lord can do anything that He wants to do because He has, it appears a resurrection of its heritage is as probable as the prognostication in Back to the Future 2.

There is no reconciliation possible in the PCUSA between its increasingly way left majority and those in the increasingly decreasing minority who still embrace its heritage aren't, uh, reconcilable.

Only a person who thinks Miley Cyrus is a good role model for young girls can't see that.

The only possibility is conciliation - live and let live - you do your thing and I'll do my thing - and only then can we share the same tax benefits and pension programs and stuff like that.

The Biblical, confessional, constitutional, historical, traditional, and common sense Christians in the PCUSA don't have the muscle aka votes to honor Jesus by the book anymore.

The way left has the muscle to force its ideology on 'em all.

    Will they?

And if they do, what will those who still believe in Jesus by the book do?

@#$%

So here is a word not threat or warning.

Parenthetically, I don't apologize to readers from other franchises because you're gonna face the same challenge if you're a "sister" franchise to the PCUSA.

If the way left in the PCUSA succeeds by official judicatorial action in their obvious desire to go Kenyonesque and force all of its churches and pastors to condone, advocate, participate, and preside upon request at same-sex nuptials or moves per capita from a voluntary apportionment to a mandatory tax or abandons its Biblical, confessional, constitutional, historical, traditional, and common sense Christology, Don Meredith will start singing long before the end of the 4th quarter, "Turn out the lights!  The party's over!"

Truth is the way left in the PCUSA, mirroring the ideological fascists of the way left and way right in America, don't want to, uh, coexist.

    They are ideological fascists.

They demand obedience to themselves; and Jesus by the book be...

If the way left succeeds with their not-so-secret-anymore ideological fascism (go to the right column and click on "Labeling and the Rise of Ideological Fascism"), they will have pounded the last nails into the coffin of the PCUSA.

That's not a threat or warning.

    It's a word.

@#$%

Americans and PCUSAers are sooooooo incredibly and increasingly stupid.

They keep shooting the golden goose that...

They keep distancing themselves from the only One who can save 'em.

    That's just sooooooo stupid.

    Unreal.

    Uh, not.

    Eschatological.
