Stupid Americans

Kopp Disclosure

@#$%

"Stupid is as stupid does."

One of America's greatest theologians, Kurt Vonnegut, recollected, "An Indianapolis cousin of mine, who was also a high school classmate, did very badly at the University of Michigan while I did badly at Cornell.  His father asked him what the trouble was, and he made what I consider an admirable reply: 'Don't you know, Father?  I'm dumb!'  It was the truth."

@#$%

After so many incompetent Presidents in a row, it boggles the mind to see the USA on the verge of electing a pathological liar or Presbyterian who is pathologically arrogant to continue the trend.

The pathologically arrogant Presbyterian in the running says it's because so many Americans are stupid.

I think he has a point.

Just look at who we've sent to DC lately; and look at who's probably gonna be next in line.

Yeah, I think he's on to something.

He may have gotten it from Kurt who may have gotten it from Jesus; for Jesus talked about "fools" who don't pay attention to Him on matters of faith and morality and all of the below.

Read the last several verses of Matthew 7.

Jesus used a Greek word transliterated as moros - Yep!  It is as it sounds! - to describe people who don't follow Him by the book.

@#$%

So how is America working without God in government, courtroom, classroom, commerce, too many churches, and...?

Go back up there to the Gump quote.

I wanna be wrong; but I think the arrogant Presbyterian has pinned the tail on the donkey.

@#$%

Speaking of stupidity, Presbyterians in that increasingly decreasing part of the kingdom called the PCUSA know all about that.

    O.K., maybe it's not stupidity.

It could be a calculated thanatos libido.

It could be the lampstand has already been removed.

It could be the PCUSA needs a collective exorcism.

    Not sure.

All I know about what I don't know why PCUSAers come off as sooooooo stupid today is that they keep distancing themselves from their heritage and wonder why people are leaving 'em quicker than poop flows through a goose.

From Genesis to Revelation in the book that doesn't have much authority in the PCUSA like most other "sister" mainline denominations - C'mon, it's O.K. to be honest about what you don't believe anymore.  You won't go to hell for it.  Oops.  I meant you won't go to jail for it! - the message from Father, Son, and Holy Spirit is clear, concise, consistent, and commanding: "Return to Me and I will restore you.  If not, not."

That doesn't mean getting everything down to a science and being right about everything.

If that were true or possible, it would negate the soteriological intention of the incarnation.

It just means people who really love Jesus by the book pray and try to be in/through/for Jesus by the book instead of always contending with Jesus by the book.

It just means exegesis over eisegesis.

It just means not acting so stupid when it comes to stuff that God's already revealed in Jesus by the book that's been upheld, confirmed, and advocated, more than less, by 2K years of Biblical, confessional, constitutional, historical, traditional, and common sense Christianity.

@#$%

Getting back to the pathologically arrogant Presbyterian running for President who keeps saying America is messed up because there are so many stupid Americans in DC, I've gotta confess I see a striking parallel in the PCUSA.

Actually, my mind continues to be boggled by the seizure of the PCUSA by people so far to the left of our heritage that it makes the left in DC look like BB guns compared to heavy artillery or Twiggy standing next to Dolly Parton.

The way left in the PCUSA has pret' near complete control over the franchise.

The remnant of churches and pastors who still embrace and advocate its heritage increasingly lose influence because of exits and attrition and fatigue and...

Annnnnnnd while I believe our Lord can do anything that He wants to do because He has, it appears a resurrection of its heritage is as probable as the prognostication in Back to the Future 2.

There is no reconciliation possible in the PCUSA between its increasingly way left majority and those in the increasingly decreasing minority who still embrace its heritage aren't, uh, reconcilable.

Only a person who thinks Miley Cyrus is a good role model for young girls can't see that.

The only possibility is conciliation - live and let live - you do your thing and I'll do my thing - and only then can we share the same tax benefits and pension programs and stuff like that.

The Biblical, confessional, constitutional, historical, traditional, and common sense Christians in the PCUSA don't have the muscle aka votes to honor Jesus by the book anymore.

The way left has the muscle to force its ideology on 'em all.

    Will they?

And if they do, what will those who still believe in Jesus by the book do?

@#$%

So here is a word not threat or warning.

Parenthetically, I don't apologize to readers from other franchises because you're gonna face the same challenge if you're a "sister" franchise to the PCUSA.

If the way left in the PCUSA succeeds by official judicatorial action in their obvious desire to go Kenyonesque and force all of its churches and pastors to condone, advocate, participate, and preside upon request at same-sex nuptials or moves per capita from a voluntary apportionment to a mandatory tax or abandons its Biblical, confessional, constitutional, historical, traditional, and common sense Christology, Don Meredith will start singing long before the end of the 4th quarter, "Turn out the lights!  The party's over!"

Truth is the way left in the PCUSA, mirroring the ideological fascists of the way left and way right in America, don't want to, uh, coexist.

    They are ideological fascists.

They demand obedience to themselves; and Jesus by the book be...

If the way left succeeds with their not-so-secret-anymore ideological fascism (go to the right column and click on "Labeling and the Rise of Ideological Fascism"), they will have pounded the last nails into the coffin of the PCUSA.

That's not a threat or warning.

    It's a word.

@#$%

Americans and PCUSAers are sooooooo incredibly and increasingly stupid.

They keep shooting the golden goose that...

They keep distancing themselves from the only One who can save 'em.

    That's just sooooooo stupid.

    Unreal.

    Uh, not.

    Eschatological.

I saw you write much the same thing elsewhere, and I'm still wondering.... You've been preaching that the sky is falling for quite a while. Same-sex marriages became legal in the PCUSA way back in March. It doesn't take 8 months to file charges, and yet as far as I know, no charges have been filed against anyone.. At what point does the evidence that it isn't going to happen outweigh your paranoia? Never?

What, exactly, are these way left folks waiting for, if their desire to go Kenyonesque is so "obvious"? What is the evidence that it is "obvious" when the best evidence would be that they file charges, which they haven't done?

Or is it all part of a super secret plan that is so secret only you know about it and we should just believe you because you say so? ;)

Tom,

Good questions, friend.

I guess we'll see.

If I were you, I'd go back to the Kenyon case and see some of the striking parallels.

Also, check the stats in the franchise.

You may remember a famous American who said, "Some say there is a bear in the woods. Some say there is no bear in the woods. Isn't it better to be prepared...just in case there is a bear in the woods?"

I guess it's the old Scout in me: "Be Prepared!"

Regardless, I appreciate your questions and observations even though I may be more captive to the truths of original sin than...

Blessings and Love!

P.S. Love your hyperbole; but, uh, I have not been preaching/saying the sky is falling. That would assume some kinda panic on my part. Nah. Jesus wins in the end. I am totally confident in His utlimate victory, as Bullinger wrote back in 1563, despite me and...
