    Praise the Lord!

It's not a sophomoric video that provokes(ed) Islamofascistnutballs.

    It's climate change.

    I'm so relieved.

    Praise the Lord!

It's not crappy parenting or moving away from God by the book or just plain old evil that's turned the Windy City into Chi-Raq.

    It's the Police Chief.

    I'm so relieved.

    Parenthesis.

Anybody notice the link between video/climatology and Chi-Raq?

    Ouch.

    Praise the Lord!

It's not that Clemson, Alabama, Iowa, Michigan State, Ohio State, Stanford, Oklahoma, Baylor, NIU, NC, and a few others are better than the South Benders.

It's the last minute or two of some games.

Yeah, if it weren't for the last minute or two of some games that other teams don't have to worry about, Kelly Green, et.al. would be in the big game.

    I'm so relieved.

    Praise the Lord!

It's not that mainline denominations have abandoned over 2K years of Biblical, Christocentric, confessional, constitutional, traditional, historical, and common sense Christianity.

It's that nobody wants to join anything anymore and people would rather spend their "discretionary" dollars on apps.

    I'm so relieved.

Actually, that's not what I want to talk about.

I want to talk about retirement.

During a review of our family of faith by a higher judicatory, one of my favorite ecclesiastical superiors said I don't talk/act/look like retirement will ever be on my radar.

Response: "Well, I could be knocked off by an Islamofascistnutball or somebody from the far left or far right or somebody who's still mad at me for taking the church away from them and giving it back to Jesus; but, naaaaaaahhhh, I'm never going to retire.  Really, what would I do?  Besides, I've gotta finish what's been started on the corner of Lincoln and Main; and that could take another two or three decades..."

    No joke.

Relief is a matter of perspective.

Actually, that's not what I want to talk about.

I want to quote from Ev who is our "Elder Emeritus" at FPC.

During that review of our family of faith, he said, "I would like presbytery to know we are a church family that tries in every way to follow Holy Scripture and live by it.  We would ask presbytery not to require anything of us that goes against that belief and commitment."

    I'm relieved.

    He's smiling.

    They know we're not retiring.
