Parables from a Residential Monk

Parable of Sunday Morning

God said, “Remember the Sabbath Day!  Keep it holy!  Remember Me!”

There’s a shortening shelf life for nations, communities, churches, schools, families, marriages, and all human enterprises that forget Him by putting worship at the bottom of their priority lists.

God said, “Return to Me and be blessed!  If so, so!  If not, not!”

There is an unmistakable commonality in consistently, chronically, acutely and always messed up people.  Worshiping God is not the first priority in their lives.

God isn’t who God used to be in America anymore.

Fainthearted pulpits.

Empty pews.

“I don’t like the music, secretary, pastor, denomination, and…”

It’s not about you or them.

No wonder you never got much out of worship.

You’ve mistaken self-gratification for worship.

“I can’t find a church to my liking.”

You’re not looking.

You’re lazy.

You’re lying.

“Actually, I don’t really believe in God.”

Your deportment and disposition prove it

That makes sense; for people who believe in God worship Him and those who don’t don’t and make lame excuses for thumbing their souls at Him while making eternal reservations in…

Samuel: “God honors those who honor Him.”

Word: “I have this against you.  You have abandoned your first love.  Remember Me.  Return to Me.  If you do, you will be blessed.  If you don’t, you won’t.  Your decision.  To the one who chooses Me, I will give the right to eat from the tree of life which is in paradise.”

Blessings and Love!
