Round 2 of CCPC19 and Worship on the Corner of Lincoln and Main

KOPP DISCLOSURE

(John 3:19-21)

@#$%

Round 2 of CCPC19 and Worship on the Corner of Lincoln and Main

Preface.

Here's what we know and don't know about CCPC19.

It's unprecedented, fluid and incrementally unfolding with diametrically opposed experts on its magnitude and duration.

I keep thinking of the bureaucrat that scolded me for never cancelling worship with her trump card being she is following the science.

I asked, "Which one?"

She said, "The right one!"

Uh, O.K.

In other words, no one knows what the anything but heaven is going on.

Frankly, or Shirley if you prefer, I've still got academicia in my noodle despite Paul's 1 Corinthians 1 counsel; searching for intersecting truth from diverse and often contradictory sources via newsfeeds from CNN, Fox, Newsmax, the major networks, rags like the NYT, WP, WE, CT and even the RRS.  When they agree, I think I've found  truth.  When they disagree, I think I've found opinion.

In other words, nobody really knows what's going on and and so there's been no consistency when it comes to appropriate antidotal deportment.

Of course, that hasn't stopped know-it-alls from the left, right, up and down and all around from pretending they know-it-all as they move into the intensifying mask, vax and keeping-each-other-at-arms-length wars.

It reminds me of Pentecostals, Presbyterians, Baptists, MSLs, RCs and other religious bigots that have cut Matthew 15 and 23 out of their Bibles discussing who's "more saved" with any connection to what Jesus said being coincidental with a Methodist playing mediator.

That's why I refuse to get into tinkling contests with the know-it-alls because I don't know-it-all as I focus on worship in gratitude and evangelism in mercy.

I don't know who's "more right" on this and I don't trust a lot of the players (scroll down or keep reading til ya get there).

So I'm gonna stick to what I know for sure in a John 3 and 14 kinda way.

Simply, if you want to stand strong, stand with Jesus!

Review.

We never cancelled worship on the Corner of Lincoln and Main.

We never locked down.

We never cowered in fear with Psalm 20 and 1 John 4 in mind.

It was never on our radar to cancel or lock down.

Jesus is Lord not Caesar on the Corner of Lincoln and Main.

Read Exodus 20:1-8, Isaiah 58:13-14, Acts 5:29 and Hebrews 10:19-25.

Forecast.

Now that those mask, vax and keeping-each-other-at-arms-length wars are heating up again, we will keep on keepin' on and not cancel worship or lock down.

The office will remain open.

That's a personal choice by our administrative assistant et moi.

We wear big girl and boy pants.

We know the risks of not knowing the risks and have decided we will serve above self because we're trying to follow the One that we say is Lord and Savior.

For over a year and a half, we haven't told anybody what to do and we're not about to start now.

We are just going to be available to people who need/want/expect us to be available.

Personal Note.

How can I trust people that enable or wink at killing babies to be concerned about my health?

How can I trust people that lied about the origin of CCPC19?

How can I trust people that don't have God on their radar and make decisions apart from Jesus by the book as their foundation, focus and filter?

How can I trust people that want to limit the world's population to under 500 M?

How can I trust people that abandon evil's prey in Vietnam, Afghanistan and...?

I mean, really, can you trust those kinda people with your life?

BTW, if you're curious, I'm fine.

I'm protected.

Unless I'm sick or something with more than the sniffles or head cold or another cyst or something that can't be handled by Advil, B&B or Drs Dwight and Steve, I'm not going to be tested.

Why?

I mean if I'm not sick, why would I be tested?

To add another stroke to the tally to rationalize whatever is being rationalized?

Fini.

We never cancelled worship.

We never locked down.

We never sued to stay open.

We didn't fight with anyone.

We're not going to fight with anyone.

We ignored 'em and we'll ignore 'em if they...

If you want to stand strong, stand with Jesus!

Blessings and Love!

If You Are Afraid to Die

 KOPP DISCLOSURE

(John 3:19-21)

@#$%

"If You Are Afraid to Die"

This, for me, will be uncommonly brief and to the point.

Preface.

While God's truth in Jesus by the book as enlightened by the Holy Spirit who never contradicts Jesus by the book is never wrong, I have been wrong many times in my life and ministry.

So taking His lead from Luther at Worms and paraphrasing a bit, I invite correction if shown I am wrong by Jesus, Holy Scripture and common sense informed by the Holy Spirit.

Uncommonly, for me, concise corpus.

Just like every real-deal-Jesus-loving-Bible-believing-Holy-Spirit-encouraged believer, I have never feared death since receiving Jesus into my head, heart and gut as Lord and Savior.

I'd rather not go out in a lotta pain or use a spiritual gift used once; pero I, like all Christians, believe heaven awaits the first nano-second apres the last breath.

Because I, like all Christians, believe that I'm going to heaven - read Luke 23:32-43 and Revelation 21 for a description of heaven - after the last breath by grace through faith in Jesus, I'm not afraid to die.

Heaven sounds, uh, divine.

So if you're afraid to die, it must mean you don't believe in the greatest, bestest and mostest awesomeest promise from Jesus for everyone who  believes in Him in a John 3:16, 11:25-26, 14:1-6 and so on kinda way.

Or maybe there's another reason.

Maybe you're like Rick Warren's daddy who kept saying as he died, "Gotta save one more!  Gotta save one more!"

Maybe you really get Matthew 28, Mark 16 and Acts 1.

Maybe you really want everyone to get to know Jesus, receive Him as Lord and Savior and live confidently in the assurance of living forever.

O.K.

Maybe you don't want to die because you want to share Jesus with people before they die so they don't fear that inevitability that no one escapes; for, someday, everybody will return from the funeral but you, me or them.

Still, as a believer, you're not afraid to die.

So if you are afraid to die, you know what that means.

It means you don't really believe in Jesus as Lord and Savior and don't really give a heaven about anybody else.

P.S. If you are afraid to die, make an appointment with me or someone who really believes in Jesus as Lord and Savior to pray to receive Him into your life as your personal Lord and Savior so you can stop worrying about what you can't avoid but can overcome.

Blessings and Love!

VAX WARS

KOPP DISCLOSURE

(John 3:19-21)

@#$%

Vax Wars

The vax wars have begun.

One side is fueled by fear and trust in men that murder babies and don't have an eternal peace by grace through faith in Jesus precipitating existential peace.

The other side is spiritually iconoclastic via the first table of the big ten in Exodus 20 or psychologically rebellious and politically libertarian.

Then there are those somewhere in between.

You know the kind.

They walk down the middle of the road and get whacked by both sides.

While only Jesus can bridge the, uh, separating sociospiritual distance, most people even in pulpits and pews have distanced themselves from Him when it comes to Psalms 20 and 62, Matthew 5:3, 1 John 4 and related Biblical counsel.

upokrisis.

That's the transliteration of a very fascinating Greek word that's sooooooo metaphorical to today's vax wars.

Parenthetically, no, I'm not going to define it.  Look it up!  Part of teaching and preaching and undershepherding to the Good Shepherd  is to elevate not dumb down.  Besides, if you can google some of the...

Getting back to the vax wars with all of the pain and suffering attached to it to which no one has been immune, anyone paying attention knows the CCPC19 is unprecedented, fluid and incrementally unfolding with diametrically opposed experts on its magnitude and duration.

In lay terms, nobody really knows what the anything but heaven is going on.

Psst.

That's why there's been no consistency when it comes to appropriate antidotal deportment.

I keep thinking of the person that told me that she was following the science when it comes to the CCPC19.

I asked, "Which one?"

She said, "The right one!"

Oh, O.K.

Sounds like a Pentecostal, Presbyterian, Missouri Synod Lutheran and Roman Catholic discussing who's more saved with any connection to what Jesus said about it being coincidental with a Methodist playing mediator.

Anyway, while I may be wrong, I am going to stop getting into tinkling contests and focus on evangelism to all and discipling to the willing.

I don't know who's right or wrong on this challenge.

So I'll just stick to what I know for sure in a John 3 and 14 kinda way.

If you want to stand strong, stand with Jesus!

Limits to Invitation, Welcome and Inclusion in the Church

KOPP DISCLOSURE

(John 3:19-21)

@#$%

Limits to Invitation, Welcome and Inclusion in the Church

Believers don't mix well with non-believers.

It's the difference between good and bad leaven.

Good leaven mixes in to make better.

Bad leaven mixes in to make worse.

There's more WORD on that in Matthew 13:33; 16:5-12.

It's the difference between light and darkness with Isaiah 5:20-21 and 2 Corinthians 6:14-18 in mind.

Opposites aren't complementary in the Church.

Fidelity and infidelity don't share pew and pulpit space.

There's no egalitarianism in the Church when it comes to the Godly and unGodly.

For example, Christian behavior is shaped by belief in Jesus as Lord and Savior by the book as enlightened by the Holy Spirit who never contradicts Jesus by the book with the hallmarks of grace, mercy and forgiveness wrapped in agape which is praying and laboring for the highest good of everyone no matter who, what, where, when or why without the need or expectation for response, regard or reward.

For example, noting the big difference is John 14:1-6, Muslim behavior is shaped by belief in Mohammed as the model and Koran as the manual and does not share the Christian hallmarks of grace, mercy and forgiveness wrapped in agape.  Just ask women and gays!

Just saying.

Anyway, that means there are limits to invitation, welcome and inclusion in the Church.

While we want everyone to be saved - live confidently in the assurance of living forever by grace through faith in Jesus - because that's what Jesus wants with John 3:16-17 as the HEADline, those disrespecting and disbelieving in Jesus as Lord and Savior by the book cause dissonance, distraction, poison and pollution in worship, fellowship and leadership.

Remember, there is a difference between evangelism (inviting, welcoming and including people to a relationship with Jesus as Lord and Savior as the prerequisite to salvation and membership in the Church) and worship, fellowship and leadership in/through/for Him.

For example, Jesus-loving-Bible-believing churches tend to distance themselves from the contagiously apostate viruses in universalistic and syncretistic gatherings masquerading as churches - wolves in sheep's clothing a la Matthew 7:15-23 - because they are dedicated to undershepherding to the Good Shepherd who explained in Psalm 23 and John 10 that fidelity requires guiding away from bad leaven and darkness, providing WORD to save and sustain and protecting the sheep from the wolves with rod and staff as necessary.

Practically, that means everybody's invited, welcomed and included into worship, fellowship, membership and maybe leadership according to charismata in a complementarian not egalitarian kinda way pero everyone's opinions are not invited, welcomed, included, enabled or allowed in worship, fellowship, membership and leadership.

Churches are not community buildings.

Churches are consecrated to the glory, laud and honor of the Holy Trinity alone.

Alone!!!!!!!

That's why Matthew 10:16 has been the guiding principle of my undershepherding: "Be as shrewd as a serpent and as innocent as a dove."

Undershepherds have to be as shrewd as serpents or tough-minded because there are predators eager to slaughter the sheep and steal their souls and we must be as innocent as doves because there are women and men that are hungry and thirsty for intimacy with God through Jesus to be empowered by the Holy Spirit for lives of service provoked by gratitude for their existential relief and eternal salvation.

Personally, that means I always have time or make time for people that want me to talk with them about Jesus and pray with them to receive Jesus into their heads, hearts and guts as Lord and Savior.  I always have time or make time to be with people that are hungry and thirsty for intimacy with God.

When it comes to people that aren't really into Jesus by the book or play some religious game of church like a child at Candyland because they can't get into Rotary or Junior League or some other secular sorority or fraternity, I really don't have the time or inclination to hang out with 'em or invite them to lunch or a movie.

I mean, really, there's only so much time.

I'd rather give it to those that are serious about God.

Yes, I want to be cordial and friendly and I will do His best through my sinfulness to love Jesus by loving like Jesus with grace, mercy and forgiveness wrapped in love for all.  That's the difference between a Christian and, let's say, a Muslim.  Go back up to the top for more on that.

I take the existential responsibilities of a Christian in Matthew 25 very seriously within its eschatological context that is most compelling to the existential responsibilities.

No, I won't waste my time with people raising hell.

There are limits to invitation, welcome and inclusion in the Church.

The War for America's Soul Reflected Worst in Division/Decline of Nation's Accommodating Churches

KOPP DISCLOSURE

(John 3:19-21)

@#$%

The War for America's Soul Reflected Worst in Division/Decline of Nation's Accommodating Churches

More than ever before in my life and ministry, I see the war for souls in America as well as around the globe.

Attacks upon the anointed are more frequent, intense and vile.

While the Biblically literate know what happens to people that attack the anointed sooner than later, the unholy trinity's feverish undermining and canceling of so much of our Judeo-Christian heritage rooted in Holy Scripture is more shameless than ever before.

Who would have ever thought that sanctuaries consecrated in the name of Jesus would...?

Who would have ever thought that clergy that vowed to...?

I was stunned to lamentation over comments by Congresswomen/men spewing such hatred for America on July 4 and the "head" of their party not to mention Speaker not pushing back.  Not a word!  How are they going to "circle back" on that?

For longer than I can remember, I often cry myself to sleep over clergy that have distanced themselves from the unique saving Lordship of Jesus by the book as enlightened by the Holy Spirit who never contradicts Jesus by the book for some syncretistic BS making a mockery of ordination vows misunderstood, never really believed in the first place or abandoned.

A friend had a crazed woman greet him after worship on July 4, "I pray every day that you leave and go someplace else."

He is faithful and true.

She is culturally Christian with a religion coincidental to Him rather than a personal relationship with Him as faith and life's foundation, focus and filter.

I am overwhelmed to lamentation by the hypocrisy and duplicity of those that seek cultural favor over WORD in the pathetic need to be liked that means more to them than Matthew 22:34-40.

Of course, why should we expect loyalty to each other in churches when there's no loyalty among "Christian" clergy (competitive rather than complementary) with a Bible not bigger than their favorite parts.

A glaring current example is "clergy" heralding the righteous existential responsibilities of Matthew 25 that are so true to Jesus while stripping Matthew 25 of its soteriological eschatology violating a basic hermeneutic of contextuality.  Matthew 25 is both existential and eternal and it's just illiterate to ignore that.

While we're not experiencing that on the Corner of Lincoln and Main as our Lord has pruned us over the last year and a half (CCPC19) with the parable of the wheat and tares coming to mind concomitant to many new family members that authentically love Jesus by the book as enlightened by the Holy Spirit who never contradicts Jesus by the book - resulting in worship no longer polluted by dissonance, discord, clock-watching and navel-gazing - my prayers and availability have increased for colleagues without such a supporting family of faith.

With that in mind, I urge churches to get into the WORD like never before.

Read those red letters until you breathe them.

Run to the sacrament.

Worship, worship, worship with Psalm 22:3 (KJV) in mind.

We are in a war.

We will win in the end because Savior Jesus is Lord!

Not So Private and Confidential (Mutual Encouragement)

  Kopp Disclosure

(John 3:19-21)

@#$%

Not So Private and Confidential (Mutual Encouragement)

You are one of a very few to receive this.

I'll leave it up to you about sharing it with someone that may need some encouragement as the day draws closer.

Earlier this morning, I was told, "___ asked if I thought they would try to get rid of you."

They've been trying for 16 years.

Actually, they've been trying since May 8, 1977.

As I have said for years, I have always offended - in a Christian kinda way - people with salt, enthusiasm (photos), Christocentric leaven and heaven on my mind.

I kinda like being Paul's "fool" for Christ!

I did the academic BS thing until I realized I was separating myself from Him and His by degrees with 1 Corinthians 1 coming to mind.

Now I just want to be faithful.

I have often said, "There are people that really hate me and want me dead because I took the church away from them and gave it back to Jesus."

Jesus was serious about that; so I have always been serious about that...and recall conversations over 45 years ago with Paul Swedlund and Paul Watermulder about that very real possibility for anyone that keeps looking up and won't shut up about Jesus alone as Lord and Savior by the book as enlightened by the Holy Spirit who never contradicts Jesus by the book.

While I have never wanted to use that spiritual gift used only once, it has always been in the back of my mind with Paul(s); and I would rather do that than deny Him with Babylon's whore or false church of America 2021.

My passion in gratitude for Jesus intensifies daily.

God knows I love life.

I love my sons.

My wife and I are moving into deeper emotional, intellectual, and spiritual intimacy.

The saints on the Corner of Lincoln and Main encourage me and I have the best friends in the world.

When it's working, I find peaceful retreat on my motorcycle and really, really, really enjoy a good fuma with amigos on my back porch, JT's, SE and Bad Ash Cigars in Oregon, Illinois.

Then there's Billy my favorite Special Olympian.

Unless you've read Henri Nouwen's In the Name of Jesus: Reflections on Leadership, I won't even try to explain Billy's place in my life.

But I'm a Matthew 10:16 kinda guy within a Matthew 10 and John 10 context and parallel texts.

I know I'm a target.

Like you...or you wouldn't be receiving this.

My eternal perspective keeps me keepin' on.

Practically, at the beginning of the CCPC19 hyperbole, hysteria, and histrionics, I prayed God would send reinforcements because I knew the sleeper cells of the dark side would use it as an opportunity to undermine fidelity and silence people like you and me.

So I prayed for reinforcements.

I prayed our Lord would bring people together that really - authentically - love Jesus, want to leave the days of Noah and worship, witness, and work for Him without looking at the clock or counting the cost.

I did that when I was in Kansas City and...it/He happened at 55th and Oak.

While I don't doubt God's providence and don't look back, my ego got ahead of me and I left that church for a "bigger" one.

Sin.

Confessed that along with many other ones, ones now, and ones to come with 1 John 1 in mind.

Back to today, authentic-real-deal-Jesus-loving-Bible-believing saints are on the move!

Denominational allegiances and political loyalties are as irrelevant to them as they are to Jesus in a John 17 kinda way.

It's almost as if people are really paying attention to Revelation 18:4 when it comes to their "church" attendance, membership, etc....if given the opportunity to join other bravehearted sisters and brothers that want to leave their religion about Jesus for a personal and truly corporate relationship with Him.

At least that's what's happening on the corner of Lincoln and Main and other remnantal churches.

Consequently, I have never experienced worship like it's being experienced now with more and more and more folks being emboldened for Jesus and so many coming into a saving relationship with Jesus for the first time.

Enough.

You get the picture because you get the picture.

I'm not really sure why I am sending this to you.

I'm not asking you to pray for my safety.

I'm a Psalm 62 kinda guy.

I'm not worried about being kicked out of the church.

That window closed long ago in a 1 John 4:4 kinda way.

I've got too many pension credits and I'm so energized for Jesus that I've got lots of years left in the tank - Gonna rival Don Lyon on that! - and still get inquiries about accepting a call to another church.  Just last week again.

Moretheless, why would I leave a church that's been born anothen?

And while I think if any of those people roaming around the city and county and region in their sleeper cells get a copy of this that they might take a shot at me because they know their master is losing and they are nakedly apostate before the remnant, I'm really not that concerned anymore.

I know where I'm going after the last breath.

I just want to be faithful to Jesus by the book as enlightened by the Holy Spirit who never contradicts Jesus by the book.

I am so excited and overjoyed to be in worship these days and helping the thirsty and hungry grow into greater intimacy with Him and His by the grace of God through His Holy Spirit in the name of Jesus for strong, calm and serene sanity in the midst of the meanness, madness, misery and miscreance of life in the modern world.

Enough.

So why have I written to you?

Not sure.

I just felt led to do it.

Maybe I'm asking you to join me in praying God will continue releasing more and more and more people to come together on the corner of Lincoln and Main and the other remnantal churches led by pastors like Adam, Brian, Chuck, Cliff, Dan, David, Doug and others.

Maybe I just want you to know because, humbly, I know you care that I have never been happier in my entire life and ministry.

Like you, I'm getting closer to Jesus.

I'm just scratching the surface of my relationship with Jesus by the book; but I'm scratching!!!!!!!

Worship is so...awesome!

Opportunities to share Jesus and pray with people for existential relief in the assurance of eternal salvation are increasing almost exponentially.

I feel strong and calm with increasing serenity and sanity.

I live in the assurance of eternal life by grace through faith in Jesus and that's why I live so confidently in complete dependence upon Him a la Matthew 5:3.

Humbly, I know you care.

I know you know I'm a target...like you.

Like you, I'm fine.

Maybe that's why I write to you.

Mutual encouragement in/through/for Jesus.

The preceding is not about you or me.

It's all about Jesus.

Blessings and Love!
